The Deepest Ports in the World

Depth decides which vessels a port can handle — the deeper the channel and berths, the larger and more heavily laden the ships that can call. This list ranks the world’s major harbors (large and medium size) by their charted channel and cargo-pier depths from the NGA World Port Index. Offshore moorings, whose figures reflect open-water depth rather than a harbor, are excluded.
